Job Description

My Client is a global leader in the provision of specialised polymer materials and services. With operations across the globe in thermoplastic compounds, speciality polymer formulations, colour and additive systems, thermoplastic resin distribution, and vinyl resins.I have an exciting new opportunity to join their Quality Control Team, for a Quality Technician on a long-term temporary contract, that will possibly lead to permanent employment in the company for the right Candidate.

  • The Quality Control Team is responsible for the testing of the finished product and ensuring it meets specification.
  • What are the primary requirements of the role of Quality OperativeWorking alternate week shift pattern of 0600 - 1400 W1 & 1330 - 2200 W2 to ensure the in - process Quality testing of product undertaken within our Laboratory to ensure product adherence to manufacturing specifications, test methods, testing criteria across manufactured product range, identifying non - conformances on batch and product level, escalating within Quality department.What will you be responsible for as Quality Operative
  • Adherence to QC tact time target.
  • Consistent utilisation of accurate testing methodologies.
  • RFTP continuous improvement and achieve target as set.
  • Successful investigation and fixes measure.
  • Undertaking Laboratory product testing processes, you will ensure that testing is controlled, and all product produced within facility/s meets the specifications of the end user/ customer.
  • Testing samples of finished product using analytical equipment including microscope, mixers, spectrometer and viscometer in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Working in line with Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  • Adhere to QC tact time / Schedule adherence, without compromising Quality standards.
  • Operate/s all equipment within safe manner following Health and Safety guidelines as defined within SOPs.
  • Ensures area Safety standards are adhered too, identifying and raising concerns in a structured manner.
  • Uphold process conditions whist monitoring and controlling for consistency of testing and according to the specified conditions.
  • Maintain all gauges and test equipment thus keeping them verified.
  • submit full testing traceability of product/s data are input accurately within SAP.
  • Completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Accurate recording of batch information, to support data collection for First Time Pass - KPIs.
  • Identifies product trends / Variance and communicates internally within Quality department.
  • Provides concise batch information verbally and with supporting testing data for all non - conforming batch/s.
  • Making additions to the product in line with investigation findings to ensure products meets specification.
  • Recommends to production and may develop adjustments to batches to meet specifications.
  • Seek advice and guidance from Quality Lab Lead / Quality Engineer if issue cannot be resolved.
  • Ensures Non-conforming batch/s are corrected in cost effective manner to achieve required standards,
  • Supports qualification of alternative raw materials within formulations, with feedback on manufactured batch/s to Quality Lab Lead / Quality Engineering group.
  • Monitors consumable stocks, ensuring accurate stock controls.
  • Maintains Lab Housekeeping standards, contributes, develops and maintain 6s.

  • Previous experience in the plastics industry or colour industry
  • Colour matching experience (Including use of a Colour Spectrophotometer)
  • Familiarity with Injection Moulding equipment or other plastics processing equipment.
  • Experience using pigments & dyes
  • Lean / 5 S knowledge
  • Experience with the formulation of liquid dispersions.
  • This role is available for an immediate start & will require commitment to the long-term requirement of the role.
