Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a Deputy Care Home Manager has arisen to join this ambitious and growing healthcare provider with a great ethos and reputation. My client takes pride in providing good quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities, providing long-term accommodation and care, based in small, unique style homes.The service is a residential care home supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours. As such this is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a great company with an excellent support structure to manage a service that has recently slipped in its usually exemplary standards of care. Historically the service has a great reputation but has suffered more recently from a lack of clear registered management leadership. There is a lovely staff team in place already and the home is full. As Deputy Manager, you will champion high quality care provision, meeting CQC requirements, ensuring residents are treated with respect and dignity and lead fulfilling lives.Deputy Manager – Responsibilities:

As Deputy Manager, you will champion high quality care provision, meeting CQC requirements, ensuring residents are treated with respect and dignity and lead fulfilling lives. In addition, you will be responsible for a person-centred approach, working in partnership with the Service Development lead in mentoring staff to work in a person-centred way and assessing staff competencies.

Lead, manage and develop staff, ensuring high engagement, capacity and capability.

Support the Service Manager to meet pre-agreed budgetary targets by controlling costs.

Promote the service so it sustains a good reputation in the local community.

Manage risk to ensure compliance with relevant legislation so that a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors is maintained.

The ideal candidate will have:

Relevant Qualifications, e.g., NVQ Level 4/5, Nursing, Social Work qualification etc

At least three years’ experience in the caring profession

Experience of working in more than one setting

Experience of staff supervision

Knowledge and understanding of learning disabilities and challenging behaviour

Experience of caring for people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour

A commitment to people with Learning Disabilities having a quality of life in the community

Knowledge of Person-Centred Planning
