Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer Kingswinford £35,000 - £50,000Full Time - PermanentOur client, who are in such an exciting and fascinating sector working with some huge names, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic, ever-growing team.Role Objective:In this role, you will be required to plan and execute the mechanical design, develop and test, and work closely with the design, software and external manufacturing teams to ensure that design specifications are met.To be a successful mechanical design engineer, you should be mathematically and mechanically minded and have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. A top-notch mechanical design engineer should possess detailed knowledge of engineering and designprinciples and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems.Benefits

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with internal design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
  • Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD programs.
  • Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
  • Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.
  • Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Liaising with internal and external designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.
  • Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.
Candidate Specifications:
  • Mechanical Design Engineering background
  • HND/HNC as a minimum in an Engineering discipline
  • 5 years industrial experience preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of 2D & 3D AutoCAD - Solid works preferably
  • Good understanding of Geometric dimensioning & tolerances
  • Experience in the use of FEA/Stress Analysis
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing methods; welding, machining, sheet metal
  • Knowledge of materials
  • The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
