Job Description

Job title: Manual Machinist - Lathe Salary Range: £22,880 to £24,9630 per annum (£11-£12 Per Hour) Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands Permanent position working for a family owned sub contract engineering business within the Motorsport, Aerospace, Rail, Oil and Gas sector. A manual machinist is required with knowledge of turning, lathe and milling. The role will predominantly be using 3 metre long XYZ lathes but will also include manual millers .Candidates with experience of machining a variety of sized parts, different materials and medium to large batch sizes will be well received.Due to retirement this client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands requires an experienced, leading Manuel Machinist on a permanent basis. As a manual machinist, you will be required to:

  • Set and operate manual lathe turning machines
  • Machine a variety of sized parts.
  • Tool changes where needed
  • First offs
  • First off inspections
  • Using Verners, Gauges and Micrometres
  • Producing setup documents
  • Working with low volume high value parts
  • Working with large parts
  • Low batch work so ability to work with short leads times
    • The manual machinist should have the following skills or experience:
  • Manual Lathe and turning
  • Worked with large parts
  • CNC milling of large sized parts
  • Medium volume batch work
  • Worked to tight tolerances
  • Manual measuring would be advantageous
