Job Description

Assistant Warehouse ManagerPermanentKingswinfordCirca £27,000 per annum Are you experienced in a supervisory position within a warehouseDo you hold a valid FLT Licence Our client based in the Kingswinford area is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to work with them on a permanent basis. The successful Assistant Warehouse Manager will assist in managing, organising, and supervising the warehouse.Whats on offer

  • Circa £27,000 per annum - dependent on experience
  • Mon - Fri: 8:30am - 5:15pm - with 1 hour lunch
  • 20 days holidays + Bank Holidays - increases with service

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Warehouse Manager:
  • Reporting to the Warehouse Manager
  • Supervising Warehouse Assistants
  • Assisting with the organisation and management of 4 warehouses and off-site storage
  • Planning for incoming deliveries, liaising with the Operations Planner
  • Control of stock and further development of the stock control system
  • Stock rotation and control of goods expiry dates
  • Assisting with the implementation of new technology and processes
  • Monitoring damages and discrepancies
  • Accurate picking and packing of consignments
  • Safe load and unload onto/from vehicles
  • Booking in deliveries and updating warehouse schedules and spreadsheets
  • Develop procedures to ensure key customer requirements are adhered to
  • Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines including safe storage of goods
  • Use of appropriate PPE and manual handling techniques
  • Warehouse Health and Safety checks
  • Liaison with freight and courier companies
  • Operating FLT
  • Disposing of waste in an environmentally compliant manner
The Successful Assistant Warehouse Manager:
  • Supervisory experience within a stores environment
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and keen to implement technology
  • Accustomed to planning movement of stock
  • FLT Counterbalance licence
  • Experience of working in a chemical store preferred but not essential
  • Nominated Storekeeper qualification (or willing to attend 2-day course with examination)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills including Excel proficiency
  • Knowledge of Sage X3 helpful
  • Able to lead an effective team
  • Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills, flexible and proactive approach
