Job Description

Job Tile: Network Engineer - 12-month Fixed term ContractExperience Level - 7 YearsJob location: West MallingResponsible for the design and implementation of critical network components within Capitas strategic Nuvem cloud and Azure platforms. Design and delivery of network solutions to meet business requirements for migration of legacy platforms and environments, with mission critical customer workloads, to the cloud platform.Delivery involves collaboration with project managers, other senior technical staff, network engineers and operational teams to deliver a complete solution.Candidates are expected to have demonstrable, large-scale Network experience, combined with good consulting skills and an understanding of how network technologies impact on and are impacted by other IT infrastructure technologies. They should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, along with team working and effective delivery under pressure.What You Will Do:

  • Translate customer business/technology requirements that can vary in detail and produce high quality network solutions, at both high and low levels of detail.
  • Deliver designs to defined standards, often against challenging timescales.
  • Provide input to technical designs provided by other ITS technology groups - a level of cross-functional technical knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Provide direct, credible and authoritative interaction with ITES colleagues and customers alike.
  • Actively contribute to continual service delivery improvement.
  • Act as a SME and mentor to more junior Network Engineering staff.
  • Weekend data migrations as and when required
    • Knowledge/ Experience Required:
  • You will be expected to have achieved accreditation to CCNa/ CCNP level (or Juniper equivalent) and may possess a combination of the following: Cisco CCNA/CCDA, Checkpoint CCSA, Cisco CCNP/CCDP accredited, Checkpoint CCSE accredited.
  • Experience in network implementation
  • Wide experience of networking technologies, including routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, BGP, Lan extension.
  • Specific Checkpoint, F5 and Azure experience is useful
    • Desirable:
  • Experience of scripting and automation
  • Experience of data centre migrations
  • Experience of public cloud, particularly Azure migrations
