Job Description

Commercial Services Group is recruiting for a Database & Applications Support on behalf of Cantium Business Solutions, which is part of Commercial Services Group.Salary: £29,000-£34,500 per annumBrand: Cantium Business SolutionsLocation: Kings HillThe RoleWe are looking for a Database & Applications Support to join us, the successful candidate will be responding to incidents, problems and significant planned changes. The role requires work on medium scale database and application enhancements and youwill be leading on the delivery of medium sized projects for the benefit of users.If you have experience working in enterprise database administration and application support, database architecture and production of procedural documentation and its use it would be great to hear from you. This is a hybrid role where the successful candidate will have mix between working in our Kent based office and at home.Key Duties

  • To undertake investigations and diagnose and resolve database problems within SLA tolerances using database management tools
  • Undertake defined tasks associated with the planning, installation, upgrade, operation, control and maintenance of one or more databases and applications
  • Liase with application developers, support staff and external software vendors to troubleshoot site-specific performance issues, escalating to developers for software fixes or implementing database improvements
  • Undertake Back Ups and restore databases, maintain archived backup data on tape or other medium
What we need from you
  • Experience of enterprise database administration and application support or related Service Delivery Function working in a centralised team
  • High level of knowledge of management toolsets for database and platform management
  • Knowledge of database backup routines and database application scripting
  • Experience of database architecture and proven experience of database and application implementation and support
  • Experience of project delivery of small to medium scale projects
  • Excellent knowledge of hardware, operating systems, hypervisors and database product architecture and the relationships between each in the context of database and application deployment
  • Knowledge of database and application security features and configuration
