The CompanyAble Bridge Recruitment are currently being engaged with a sizable engineering business based on the outskirts of Kilmarnock (North), in the recruitment of a management accountant/finance manager on a permanent basis.The ideal candidate will be office based 5 days per week, however for the right person there is a conversation to be had about that being relaxed to accommodate a couple of days working from home. The successful applicant can expect to be well rewarded withan attractive salary and outstanding benefits such as; Above average holiday entitlement + Holiday buy scheme.Healthcare.Life assurance.Group insurance.Pension.Progression.Reporting into the operations finance director you will be working within a team of accountants.The Responsibilities The purpose of this role is to provide financial support and insight to operationally focused colleagues who require assistance with keeping on track with budgets, forecasts and project cost controls. The role will also include rudimentary month endand year end processes as you would expect. You will be assigned to a number of operations personnel where you will form strong professional relationships and act as there finance subject expert whilst reporting figures back for consolidation with other areasof the business.On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following; Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts with month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules. Work with core finance and your allocated business areas in projecting cashflow and expenditure. Working closely with your internal stakeholders in the maintenance of cost measurement, analysis & management and general controls. Assist with financial forecasting and support the tendering/contact bid process ensuring that projects are profitable. Prepare, review, and submit quarterly UK VAT returns Ensure that financial controls and compliance are maintained in accordance with company policies. Responsible for accurate working capital & cashflow management model. Purchase Ledger Control Month End/Year End Financial Reporting Support Continued Development of the Commercial & Financial FunctionsThe Requirements We are seeking an ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant who has prior experience of working with an engineering/manufacturing environment. Applicants must also have experience of business partnering with internal stakeholders and posses the ability to buildstrong relationships with colleagues. Included in this is the need to be able to communicate key financial information to engineers and production professionals. There will be an element of cost controlling involved within this role so prior experience withinthis field would be advantageous. Our client would expect applicants to have advanced MS Excel skills and be proficient in using ERP systems.
