Job Description

Infrastructure Vulnerability AnalystKent£39,000 - £41,000Our client is looking for a Infrastructure Vulnerability Analyst to join their dynamic and forward thinking team to ensure they are meeting vulnerability and patch management commitments in line with their strict security policies. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a technical background looking to gain more knowledge and experience within security operations.Key responsibilities of the Infrastructure Vulnerability Analyst

  • To analyse the output of vulnerability scans and pen tests, evaluating the risk and impact levels from both security and application perspectives.
  • To establish remediating actions and create work items for the mitigation of identified risks.
  • To work with key stakeholders in prioritising work items and allocating resource.
  • To work with the IT Operational teams in ensuring work items are addressed and issues rectified in a timely manner and in compliance with policy.
  • Report on mid-range lifecycle management (Operating Systems, Applications, Hardware).
  • Liaise with Testing function to ensure mutual benefits from the implementation of patches and vulnerability remediation.
  • To assist the IT Security team in monitoring for emerging threats (e.g. day-zero vulnerabilities).
  • Work with the Procurement Team in defining 3rd party contractual requirements around patch and vulnerability management.
  • To work in accordance with the ITIL framework and the clients governance standards ensuring that areas such as change control, incident and problem management, asset management, continual service improvement, and security best practice are considered and followed at all times.
  • Continually look for areas of improvements in technologies and processes, and to proactively take steps to bring about positive change.
  • To produce timely and accurate oral and written communications to relevant parties, such as reports to senior management, client/users, and staff groups
  • Key Experience for the Infrastructure Vulnerability Analyst
  • Experience in a similar role with a blend of up to date technical knowledge
  • Experience of vulnerability and patch management
  • Ideally have worked in a financially regulated organisation and ITIL environment
  • Awareness and experience with cyber, vulnerability and patch management
  • Confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience producing board level reports showing metrics demonstrating compliance with policy
  • Organised approach to analysis and task management
