Job Description

  • Responsible for carrying out HHSRS investigations and licensing inspections on private rented properties across designated dwellings
  • Liaise with landlords to ensure they have valid licenses and are meeting health and safety criteria for gas and electrical safety
  • In charge of sending follow up letters, carrying out enforcement action, preparing and serving Abatement Notices under statutory provisions, and gathering evidence to attend legal proceedings
  • Consulting on licensing applications, applying for review of premises licenses where appropriate, and attending licensing committees as and when required
  • Providing advice on disrepair to both landlords and tenants, serving improvement notices under the Housing Act 2004 and ensuring all works were carried out
