We are currently looking for a Downstream Research Technician to join a leading biopharmaceutical company based in the Kent area. As the Downstream Research Technician you will be responsible for executing key laboratory experiments through feasibility and development phases within tightly planned R&D projects, generating data to be used in Process Outlines for Process Transfer.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Downstream Research Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Work under overarching project plans, adhering to time-lines and targets, carrying out planned work, recording and writing up generated data. 2. Work independently and collaboratively within a team of Scientists and Technicians to deliver rapid and efficient project progress. 3. As the Downstream Research Technician, you will also contribute time to working on Upstream and Analytical tasks within your technical capability if project plans require. 4. Build expertise with relevant laboratory equipment and instruments whilst fully complying with R&D laboratory working practices. ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Downstream Research Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Education to BSc level in Bioscience/Biochemistry with relevant work experience of downstream process development in a bioscience based company. Or technical education below BSc level, but with substantial work experience of protein purification in a bioscience based company. 2. A working knowledge and practical experience with protein purification techniques, such as cell lysis and protein recovery, chromatography using the AKTA systems (or similar), ultrafiltration and diafiltration, and basic analytical techniques are essential. 3.
