Pay: Kent Range 5 Start Date: November 2020 Kemsing is a thriving village primary school and a super place to work, where relationships, at all levels, are paramount. We have a great staff team and our pupils really engage in their learning and care deeply about THEIR school. We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and dynamic individual to work as a teaching assistant in our oversubscribed, one form entry primary school for two days per week. The hours of duty are from 8.45-3.15, term time only - a total of 11 hours per week. The role involves assisting the class teacher and taking groups and occasional cover supervision of the whole class. As such, we welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience of working with children in a primary school setting, but we are open to training a suitably skilled individual who does not yet have significant experience of working in a school. This fixed term post is related to the catch-up funding from the Department for Education for this academic year, and runs until August 2021. We can offer you the support of experienced, enthusiastic staff; considerate and respectful pupils and opportunities for ongoing professional development. Kemsing Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). We would welcome you to come and visit us to find out more about our school and the role in particular. Please ring the school office to arrange a visit. Closing Date: 16/10/2020 at 12:00 Interviews: Monday 19th October 2020 Information about the school Kemsing Primary is a delightful village school in a very beautiful location set at the foot of the North Downs, yet only 10 minutes from the thriving commuter town of Sevenoaks. The school was established in 1885 although our current buildings are considerably newer! We are a one form entry school with a current roll of 200. We are a very popular school, normally oversubscribed every year. We are a central member of our local community and have strong links with our local parish church where we hold Easter, Harvest and Christmas services for the children and their families. Local businesses and community groups support us through the activities of our hard-working PTA, who run a large programme of events each year from the popular village summer fete, through to quizzes and comedy nights. Profits support school projects like the redevelopment of our wonderful swimming pool facilities. Our dedicated governing body further supports the school with its diverse skill set and has been actively involved over the past year in redesigning our eco wildlife pond and garden and creating a fabulous school library to support our childrens learning. At Kemsing Primary School we encourage parents to be fully involved in their childrens education. Our philosophy is one of partnership, where parents and the school work closely together for the benefit of the child. We treat every child as an individual. We have high expectations that all of our children will excel and reach their full potential. The school prides itself on its welcoming and happy atmosphere and our emphasis is on excellence and enjoyment for all. Our highly committed and talented staff members create a supportive yet challenging environment for our young learners. Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children.
