Job Description

Redex Recruitment is currently working with a leading supplier to the construction industry based in Brentwood, Essex. Due to recent changes within the company finance department, they now require a full-time Accounts Assistant to join them on a permanentbasis. This role will play an integral part within the accounts department. You will report directly to the company owner and operations manager but also work closely alongside the external accountants.Duties will include the following:

  • Ensure all sales invoices are entered onto Sage and liaise with credit control to keep a track on customers outstanding balances.
  • Ensure all customer receipts are correctly allocated against the correct customer to ensure that the Sales Ledger is always kept fully up to date.
  • Enter all purchase invoices onto Sage.
  • Ensure that all supplier payments are correctly allocated on Sage to the correct supplier account
  • Enter receipts and payments from the current and deposit bank accounts and reconcile both accounts at least once per month.
  • Review trade creditors periodically and chase suppliers for any missing invoices etc.
  • Liaise with the external accountant with any queries from a bookkeeping perspective.
  • Supply to the external accountants all new finance / HP agreements
  • Liaise with the external accountants regarding Wages / Salary payments (please note that the external accountant will process all wages each month, but this candidate will be responsible for collating timesheets and summarising the wages due each month)
  • Ensure that all information is entered onto Sage in a timely manner so that the external accountant can complete monthly management accounts and reviews.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in using Sage accounting software.
