Job Description

Our client, founded in 1964, is a globally leading technology company in the area of sheet metal processing, specifically metal bending, tubing and laser cutting.Due to the company experiencing rapid growth, they are now in the position where they are seeking to employ Service Engineers to install, maintain and fix their machines at customer sites across the South East area.Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installing machines at customer sites: ready for start- up according the company requirements
  • Assembling electric, pneumatic and hydraulic installations
  • Maintaining machines at customer sites and repairing electrics, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Completing and communicating required reports such as:
    • Service reports and support request forms
    • customer feedback
    • and installation documentation in the CRM.
  • Following and initiating quality improvements per ISO guidelines
  • Instructing customers on
    • machine safety
    • simple maintenance at customer locations
  • Giving the customer technical advice if required
  • Assisting the customer with physical activities (such as loading/unloading equipment)
  • Requesting spare parts from stock and the respective delivery to the customer
  • Assisting in the consultation of sales and service offers
  • Supporting the installation and operation of machines on fares and exhibitions
  • Being responsible for solving and tracking quality complaint
Qualifications/Experience
  • NVQ level 3, ideally electrical, but other relevant level 3 considered
  • Experience of PLC, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • CNC/tooling background is an advantage
  • Experience of Machine mechanics
Required Personal Skills/Key Behaviours
  • Technical knowledge
    • Ability to understand and read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings /schematics independently.
    • Ability to differentiate between CNC / PLC, as well as to read/recognize and use the viewer software of those.
    • Basic understanding of:
      • Trouble shooting
      • IT/Software: DMS, CRM, LMS & Microsoft Windows
      • Safety
      • Mechanical Engineering

  • Others (special skill & requirements):
    • Readiness to travel approximately 80-90%
    • Have a flexible schedule and work overtime or weekends if required
    • Driving license
