Job Description

Being an Activities Coordinator is so much more than just organising programmes. Its providing care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in society so they can do something they couldnt do before. Its what delivering great healthcare shouldfeel like.Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join the team at Pathfields Lodge in Irchester which currently looks after 25 residents with a range of diagnoses including dementia, learning disability, brain injury and Parkinsons.As an Activities Coordinator, you will create an activity-based culture, which will see you use technical and creative skills to assist in developing, delivering, and coordinating programmes focused on social, recreational and leisure activities.You will be supported by the wider team and will have access to funds for resources in order to offer a weekly timetable of social activities in order to make a tangible difference to the quality of life of our residents.We are committed to the ongoing development of our staffing group and actively encourage the continued professional development of our employees.A range of training opportunities are available that can see your career grow and you achieve your career aspirations.Your responsibilities will include:

  • To plan and co-ordinate an innovative and adaptive programme of activity under the supervision and direction of members of the nursing team
  • Organise and plan resident events in collaboration with colleagues to promote inclusivity.
  • To develop and use practical and technical skills with residents, either through your own identification of need or as suggested by members of the wider team
  • To work with residents to improve their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.
  • To assist in identifying residents strengths and needs in order to plan and implement suitable activities for groups and individual service users.
  • To be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of activity with s residents and carers and the nursing team
  • To integrate as part of the team, supporting daily need where necessary e.g. morning routines, lunches.
  • To record clinical information on residents progress with members of the nursing team
  • Work alongside the nursing team to support residents and ensure clinical and risk issues are communicated to the wider team.
To be successful in this role, youll need:
  • Ability to build and maintain therapeutic relationships
  • Care certificate or willingness to work towards
  • Any other specific skills which can be utilised in this setting: Art & Craft, Horticulture, Cooking, Music
  • Previous experience in organising/facilitating social events and activities.
