Job Description

UK Marketing ManagerColchester, Ipswich, Cambridge, BSE£60k plus Bonus and BenefitsThe client is the UK operations of an international Group, which provides B2B solutions, advice and components to a wide variety of packaging businesses including the Food, Beverage, Health Care and Wellness sectors, and more besides. The UK operation comprises a number of companies, and the business is growing steadily and profitably through both organic growth and acquisition. As the business grows, so do the products and services, and it is imperative that Marketing pulls all these activities together, raising the profile of the business and demonstrating the synergies and diversity of the business.Reporting to the UK Sales and Marketing Director, with a dotted line to the European Marketing Director, and managing a small team, responsibilities include;

  • Establish, the marketing strategy for the UK, including product, pricing, distribution and promotion, for all sales channels. Define the positioning of the offers in the market.
  • Carry out strategic market studies, monitoring consumer behaviour
  • Manage an online marketing presence, and compose and execute email marketing campaigns, manage website development, and social media management.
  • Build the operational marketing plan, manage and deploy the promotional planning.
  • Ensure the adequacy of marketing actions with the expectations of customers and prospects.
  • Participate in defining the objectives of commercial communication.
  • Define the form and content of sales support materials; information and advertising on points of sale, offer kits, brochures, product sheets, catalogues, and written collateral
  • Be the point of reference in the UK for the Group re-branding project, which will commence later this year, actively participating with the Corporate Marketing Team.
  • Develop, manage and mentor the UK marketing team in the long term.
  • Choose communication channels, such as advertising, promotional events, & catalogue.
  • Organise exhibitions, seminars, technical training.
  • Choose suppliers and service providers for marketing and communication, and negotiate and monitor the contracts with service providers and agencies.
  • Perform regular and precise reporting to the senior management and the Board.
    • An agile and creative approach is important, ensuring that opportunities for the services are identified and capitalised upon, and adapting a marketing approach in response to competitor and market developments, and sales performance. The role requires a highly collaborative approach, working closely with Sales, and the wider Marketing and Communications team. You will need broad experience and the gravitas to take the sales team with you. You need to understand budget management, timely communications and have experience working within a large global corporate. There are fantastic opportunities to develop this role into a senior management role, especially given the growth targets and performance of the business.This role may be commutable for candidates based in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Ipswich, Colchester, Bury St.Edmunds, Stowmarket, Newmarket, Thetford, Mildenhall, Braintree, Bishops Stortford, Norwich, Haverhill, Royston, Saffron Walden.
