Job Description

If this sounds like you, please read on to find out more about the Transport Planner opportunity in Hadleigh, Ipswich. How will you support us This role is working with Celotex where you will be responsible for all aspects of the transport operations, ensuring the on-time delivery of products across the UK and into Europe. You will ensure transport planning and co-ordinating is carried out in the most time and cost efficient way using defined KPIs to monitor performance.In the role as a Transport Planner you will;

  • Ensure that all operations within the transport function are effectively completed to achieve maximum vehicle utilisation, cost effectiveness and that the company service targets are achieved.
  • Co-ordinate loading and site shunting functions to complete daily dispatch requirements both internal and external.
  • Allocate loads to haulier partners and liaise with them on delivery issues through the day.
  • Identify opportunities for cost saving and assist with developing effective solutions to realise them.
  • Ensure that all loads planned have been checked as correct prior to dispatch. To ensure delivery notes issued are correct. Load records must be kept and details of all errors found noted.
  • To ensure the use of systems in place to capture changes in order status so that paperwork/documents are correct and note any changes made for cross reference, advising any other staff as necessary.

  • Sound working knowledge of a busy transport environment.
  • Proactive approach to meeting customer requirements.
  • Relevant experience in a Transport related or logistics role.
  • Highly organised with a high level of work accuracy required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent numeracy skills with IT experience (Microsoft Office, with good Excel knowledge).
