Job Description

Senior Building SurveyorIpswich Our Client a leading Construction, Design, and Building consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to support the Principal Building Surveyor in advising clients on the design and construction of buildings, condition, maintenance, and repair.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on schemes and projects to determine requirements
  • Advise clients on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction
  • Advice on the management and supervision of maintenance of buildings
  • Advice on the health and safety aspects of buildings.
  • Determine and advise clients on the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects and providing proposals for repair
  • Be customer-focused, putting the client first
  • Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule
  • Lead project meetings with clients and contractor
  • Instruct on construction design and management regulations
  • Contribute to the improvement of standard systems and procedures within the Building Surveying team
  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of scheme designs, costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works
    • Qualifications / Experience
  • Degree in Building Surveying
  • Working towards professional qualification e.g MRICS, MCIOB
  • Up to two years Building Surveyor experience
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building construction and building regulations with an understanding of planning legislation and health and safety
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • ArchiCAD/CAD proficient or working towards proficiency
