Job Description

A very successful and fast growing Company within the Insurance industry is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Claims Handler.Working in a highly professional environment youll be an effective communicator with a flexible and proactive approach to the changing needs of the business and giving your customers the best possible Claims experience.Also theyre looking for people who have a desire to grow and develop with them. Key responsibilities of the Personal Injury (PI) Claims Handler role include:

  • Manage your own caseload of Claims, handling all aspects of validating, investigating and negotiating third party PI claims
  • Clearly explain decisions on liability and negotiating settlement as economically and efficiently as possible
  • Evaluate quantum by gathering relevant evidence, adjusting reserves in accordance with company reserving processes
  • Liaising with internal and external partners at all levels
  • Ensure Customers are kept up to date with the progression of their claim
To be a successful PI Claims Handler you will demonstrate:
  • Existing Motor Claims experience which has involved settlement delivery options
  • Sound understanding of the Industry, including MOJ processes, the pre-action protocol and litigation procedures
  • Ability to assess claims based on economics and with the best interests of the business in mind
  • Strong negotiation skills and able to challenge where appropriate
  • Ability to spot and deal with potentially spurious claims
  • Strong attention to detail and natural problem-solving abilities
This is a hybrid role which will allow you the flexibility of working in the office and at home.
