Job Description

RJS Recruitment are supporting our client who is currently looking for a proactive, commercially minded Export Ocean Freight Coordinator who has experience in ocean operations, creating operation efficiencies and customs procedures.Our Export Ocean Freight team supply our customers with tailored logistics solutions which enables them to export their products to new and existing markets successfully. The successful candidate would be joining a strong performing company with highly experiencedand skilled colleagues. This operational department has plenty opportunity for the right candidate in a friendly and professional work environment. Within the role you will also receive suitable training to become a specialist customs broker and play a bigpart in facilitating international trade.Our client is an all-encompassing global logistics provider and has grown to be one of the largest independent UK providers of logistics solutions across Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Australasia.They specialise in providing global supply chain solutions and can handle every aspect of our clients’ cargo needs via our expert in-house teams - from start to finish, regardless of point of origin or destination.The role will involve:

  • Daily communication with our UK and overseas clients from booking stage to final delivery
  • Coordinating Export bookings
  • Liaising with UK customers to obtain load details and commercial paperwork
  • Arranging Customs Clearance
  • Raising bills of lading in accordance with country and customer requirements
  • Invoicing and sending pre alerts in a timely manner
  • Raising consular documentation
  • Building and maintaining client relations for new and continued business with customers
  • Working within the export department to ensure seamless solutions for clients
Candidate profile
  • Competence in handling bills of lading & consular documents
  • General Customs Compliance
  • Understanding of Inco Terms
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Problem-solving ability, particularly when working under pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good geographical knowledge
