Job Description

HGV Technician Location: IpswichSalary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (including overtime + Time Saved Bonus)Hours of Work: Late Shift 40 hours per weekThe Client:Our client is a DAF Truck dealership that operates in the East Anglia region, a family run business that sells new and used DAF trucks, provides full repairs and maintenance work, and also sells genuine DAF, PACCAR and TRP truck parts. Operates in severallocations with each of the locations hosting a parts department and a workshop.The Role:Our client has a vacancy for an experienced HGV Technician, the role is based in Cambridge and would like an innovative and well-motivated individual to fill the role.Responsibilities:

  • Regular service inspections
  • MOT preparations on mainly DAF trucks and occasionally on other brands of trucks.
  • Identifying faults and carryout repairs and service as well as completion of all relevant paperwork.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Must possess City and Guilds / NVQ level 3 qualification in Heavy duty vehicle repairs
  • Be comfortable working as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to diagnose vehicle faults and correct the faults is essential
  • Able to communicate and work hand in hand with parts department and workshop controls
  • Possession of HGV Class 2 License would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Previous experience working in a commercial industry
  • IRTEC License Preferred but not essential
  • Experience gained in a main dealer
