Job Description

Export Port Operations ClerkFull time, permanent Job descriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join a team that provides all Export load lists, Hazardous reports, special equipment within the timeframe specified to MSC Planning offices and UK Ports served by MSC.We believe the successful Export Port Ops Clerk should have the following skills:

  • Prioritise workloads at busy periods
  • Knowledge of customs procedures an advantage but not essential
  • Good literacy and communication skills
The key tasks for the Export Port Ops Clerk are:
  • To provide MSC Planners with accurate loading information (Recap, OBL, etc)
  • Making sure all containers are arrived on quay by deadline set, involving haulage and Export Trade desk to resolve
  • Balance vessels using MSC systems to match port systems CNS and Destin8, identifying and correcting any errors
  • Assist the haz clerks with the completion of import / export and ROB declarations for sending of Dangerous cargo information to Port Authorities / planners
  • Sending of accurate TLP / TLA (loading files) to north west continent agencies
  • Sending load confirmation for Transshipment containers & MSC Agencies bookings
  • Sending of ACP files for vessels which transit the Panama Canal
  • Completion of TOR upon sailing of Vessels
  • Completion of feeder requests for relevant calls
  • Sending of accurate pre-load declarations to relevant ports. This is soon to include European ports for Brexit purposes
  • Provide files to UK port planners and working with them to resolve any issues that arise
  • Produce ships bag documentation for ships agent to then place on board vessels
  • Ensuring Post shipments are accurate and completed in a timely manner after departure, any short shipments are advised to Trade Desk
