Job Description

The words catering assistant and social life dont often go together. Well, not this time. With this job you will not work evenings, you will only work 16 hours a week, and you will not be under insane pressure and stress.You will be joining an established kitchen team at Victoria Gardens in Liverpool. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the chefs to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries.Its a calm and pleasurable working environment, where youll be able to manage your workload and develop your career. Theres a great social aspect to this role where you can interact with people outside the kitchen regularly.Just imagine… home in time for dinner every night. Two days off a week.   • To be responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of the dining areas and equipment / furniture.
  • To ensure that all catering waste is disposed of following the correct procedures.
  • To ensure that all pots, crockery, etc. are cleaned, and stored appropriately.
  • Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
  • To be responsible for the departments cleaning chemicals / equipment and materials ensuring safe storage, stock rotation and use following manufacturers instructions and established procedures.
  • Prepare vegetables, salad and sandwiches to a consistently high standard.
  • Present and package food as required for distribution.
  • To serve service users, staff and visitors with food and beverages in a professional and customer friendly manner.

    • Where you will be workingLocation: Victoria Road, Huyton, Liverpool, L36 5SAYou will be working at Victoria Gardens, a specialist locked rehabilitation for people with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge, as well as a ward for older females. You will support the service to equip service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence.The service is a recovery-based service and incorporates elements of the Good Lives Model, supported by individualised interventions. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker support.What you will get
