Job Description

Technical Support EngineerMy client within manufacturing has locations in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Belgium, servicing markets across Europe & Middle East. They are the market leaders in their field.it’s an exciting time to help shape their future direction. This business has been in operation for 120 Years!The Technical Support Engineer will report to the Information Systems Manager, but will also work closely with the IS Technicians and IS Administrator. The Technical Support Engineer will ensure a high-level infrastructure and end-user support is given tothe business.The Technical Support Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Fault-finding and maintaining servers, PCs, network infrastructure hardware and software (including laptops) used in the organisation.
  • Ensure accurate recording of assets within the IT Asset register.
  • In a business-like manner accurately log details of reported Incidents and Service Requests.
  • Monitor, update and escalate calls to ensure Service Levels are achieved.
  • Ensure all IT activities, including relocating IS, telephone and office equipment as requested by key personnel during business hours, strictly in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
The Ideal Technical support engineer will have the following Skills:
  • Have a working knowledge of Windows server.
  • Have a working knowledge of O365, including managing and maintaining SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Must have excellent timekeeping and communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude to work and be flexible to challenges and changes.
  • Full driving Licence with the ability to travel as and when required.
  • Microsoft scripting technologies including PowerShell, VBA, and VBScript.
  • Advanced Windows Server.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL (DBA and/or T-SQL).
  • Advanced knowledge of Citrix and/or Windows Terminal Services.
  • Back-end web-based technologies.
