Job Description

Senior Buyer - Hull - £31,000 - £33,000Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a rapidly growing business based in Hull who are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Buyer to join their established team. This position will play a key role within the Procurement Department and will be focusedon ensuring value for money is achieved for all works and proactively reviewing systems & procedures, making recommendations and implementing change.Package & Benefits:

Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the Procurement Manager in planning and implementing strategic procurement strategies across the full business
  • Develop and enhance the procurement process and fully manage tenders
  • Manage competitive procurement through both OJEU and framework routes
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement techniques and work closely with internal stakeholders to promote continuous evolvement
  • Prepare and publish OJEU contract notices and contract awards in line with EU regulations
  • Maximise income for the company through implementing appropriate negotiation skills and practise
  • Identify new suppliers; negotiate supply agreements and terms, including discount structures and volume rebates
  • Develop and establish strategic relationships with key suppliers
  • Liaising across all levels with senior staff, managers, clients, suppliers, sub-contracts and end-users
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and objectives and respond quickly to procurement and planning support from within the company
  • Regular review of supplier pricing and analysis of performance
Hours: Full Time: 8:00am4:00pm MonThursday and 8:00am3:30pm FridayRequired Skills & Experience:
  • CIPS Qualification or working towards
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages
  • 5 years experience within the Construction Industry is desirable
  • Experienced in tendering processes, product value engineering, resolving disputes and contract management.
  • Proficient knowledge of procurement legislation, standard forms of contract & OJEU procedures
  • Ability to make decisions and analyse information
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages - especially Excel.
