Job Description

Maintenance HandypersonLocation: Hull, East Yorkshire, HU9 1DNSalary: £10.50 per HourContract: 35, 28 and 21 hour per week contracts available, PermanentShifts: Dayshift, Nightshift or Weekend work, all of our employees who are working mainly dayshift are expected to also take on some night shifts and some weekend workWe are the Avocet Trust; a supportive, friendly and passionate team of carers.Every single day we make a difference, we make someones day a little better, do you want to be part of that We are a charity established in 1991 who specialises in providing high quality care for Residential, Short Stay and Day Care to vulnerable adults in over 40 properties across Hull and the East Riding.We are at the top of our game. We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Handyperson to assist with the general day to day maintenance of the properties within the Trust, this will include basic plumbing, joinery, general D.I.Y etc.As our Maintenance Handyperson, you will be responsible for:

  • General D.I.Y and repairs/installations at the properties (including broken glass and damaged woodwork repairs)
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Gardening Maintenance/Cutting grass, fence and gate repairs
  • External cleaning and general maintenance (cleaning guttering etc)
  • Moving items to and from various sites/services as required
  • Completing all paperwork and risk assessments
  • Any other duties within this post
What we want from you:You must have a valid driving license with Category D1 or PSV & access to a vehicle!Experience in a similar general handyperson role would be great!We look after our staff too! Benefits:
