As the Lead Production Engineer on this site, your primary responsibility will be to identify, and drive projects aligned with improvements to plant operations with a focus on throughput, yield, quality cost and safety. The Lead Production Engineer will work across the plant and consider the benefits of both short and long-term improvement projects.Leveraging a robust technical and theoretical background within process industries, you will implement practical and sustainable solutions aimed at optimising plant performance, enhancing efficiencies, and reducing costs.In this Lead Production Engineer role, you will actively engage in coaching team members and cross departmental stakeholders where appropriate. Key responsibilities of the Lead Production Engineer include:* Ensuring the implementation of effective measurement tools and the collection of performance data for tracking and reporting.* Collaborating with Production Technicians and networking with site engineers to share knowledge on plant operations.* Working with the supply chain to address plant needs from raw material planning* Driving and ensuring appropriate technical content of Process descriptions* Analysing plant data to identify and understand issues.* Applying Continuous Improvement (CI) / Lean methodologies to address constraints.* Creating Change Management documentation, obtaining financial approval, and supporting the implementation and commissioning of solutions.* Participating in the analysis and resolution of reliability issues.* Leading investigations for incidents.* Contributing to Hazard Identification and Risk assessment activities.* Management of Production Engineering teamThe ideal candidate for this role:* Holds a Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical or Process engineering.* Possesses working knowledge of COMAH environments.* Has experience using tools to enhance manufacturing processes.* Demonstrates solid technical knowledge of core chemical engineering processes* Has experience with automated process control systems.* Shows demonstrable experience in leading teams.* Exhibits effective communication skills at all levels.* Has the ability to influence through leadership and personal example.* Possesses sound commercial acumen with a demonstrable appreciation of commercial impact of projects being proposed.
