Job Title: Laser Operator Pay Rate: £12 - £14 p/h - D.O.E + Overtime premiums Hours: 40 hours - 07:30am - 16:00pm (Mon-Thur) 07:00am - 13:00pm (Fri)Location: HullContract: Temp to PermStart Date: ASAPOverall ResponsibilityOperation of the Laser Cutter, making sure all programmes are completed correctly and any issues recorded, coordinating activities with the Laser Labourer to ensure the Laser is maximised and sheets are loaded/unloaded as per instructionsTo uphold this overall responsibility, the following job activities will be completed efficiently and effectively:Cutting Process Quality:i. To check every material is for size, gauge and grade prior to cutting ii. Comply and perform "One offs" taking responsibility for quality of components that have been cut iii. Marking up and kitting of cut parts also cleaning and fettling when required. Cutting Schedule: i. Make sure all Cutting plans are completed to scheduleii. Minimising Cutting Process Risk (Broken Ceramics)iii. Coordinate and Manage efficient use of all stock and materialsiv. Follow procedures for traceability, storage and control of materials, components and wastev. Follow procedures for maintaining legal and working machines inc. servicing, maintenance plans, shutdown periods etc Error and Issues:i. Proactively manage and maximise quality outputs across all cutting jobsii. Contribute to a healthy, safe, and legal business; iii. Be proactive in recognising areas and processes within the business that could be improved to ensure profitability in all we doiv. Contribute and uphold to all quality standards, It is expected that the person fulfilling this role will:* Promoting a professional image at all times* Ensure accurate completion of all job activities including all associated administrative duties Qualifications and Educational RequirementsGood level of written and spoken English is requiredRequired Competencies* Production experience within a Sheet Metal Fabrication environment* Laser Operation Experience preferred Bystronic* Hold a current Fork Truck Licence* Basic knowledge of different metals.
