Job Description

Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working withemployers and providing youth services.As a HR Adviser, you will be providing support to our JETS (Job Entry Targeted Support) programme on a Fixed Term Contract until April 2022. This programme is delivered across the North East of England, South London and Scotland and works to support serviceusers who have found themselves unemployed due to the COVID Pandemic. When restrictions allow you will need to be flexible to work across the geographical remit.Please note this is a part time role, working 24 hours a week. The location of this role can also be flexible too, you could be based in: Derby, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, OR Hull.Salary for this role - £30 - £35k - pro rata What the job is about: As a HR Adviser you will be providing HR support to our JETS programme. In a role that offers a high level of job satisfaction, you will be fully supported as you provide business-focussed generalist HR advice, guidance and interventions across the regionsmentioned above. Duties will primarily focus on the professional areas of Performance & Reward, Employee Relations, Resource and Talent Planning, TUPE processes and litigation and Organisational Design.   • Must either have or be working towards CIPD qualified status (Minimum Level 5)
  • A practical and up to date understanding of employment law.
  • Background of working in a generalist HR environment with some experience of supporting and advising line managers on a range of HR issues such as reorganisations and ER issues.
  • Experience of creating/updating Company policies and procedures, supporting employees in all areas of Company compensation and benefits.
  • Experience of supported internal and external recruitment & selection processes (attraction, assessment centres, interviews, testing etc.).
  • Data entry, manipulation and analysis to inform decisions and judgements.
  • Strong attention to detail whether that be employee data, contractual issues and employee relations matters.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced customer facing industry that is subject to regular change.
  • Providing people focussed interventions that support the delivery of business objectives without compromising the Companys HR policies and procedures.
  • Ability to analyse and understand issues/information to make decisions or put forward recommendations that are both robust and defensible.
  • Confident in dealing with people at all levels within the organisation providing accurate HR advice whilst also willing to challenge and confront where appropriate.
  • Well organised and methodical with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tactful and discreet in handling sensitive personal information.
  • IT literate particularly with Word and Excel
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Experience of working with HR systems (Oracle, Oracle reporting and Logiforms) with the ability to extract and present specific data in an accurate and structured format
  • Experience of leading and or supporting investigations into allegations of misconduct
  • Experience of supporting HR projects involving consultative activity with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Delivering of HR advice & guidance, face-to-face, over the telephone and by email to operational teams within customer-focussed and/or contract-based business environment e.g. recruitment, retail, government outsourced business activities etc
