Job Description

Head of Operational Excellence at a leading UK based manufacturer in Hull.With site-wide manufacturing responsibilities, this role provides a brilliant opportunity for an engaging individual to make their mark on a growing business.Client DetailsMichael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working in partnership with a prestigious UK based manufacturer who supply an exceptional range of products to a large customer base across the UK and internationally.With several sites across the UK this manufacturing business are looking to recruit a driven, strategic and people-orientated Head of Operational Excellence to take full, site-wide CI responsibilities for their manufacturing facility in Hull.DescriptionThe Head of Operational Excellence will form part of the senior leadership team of this impressive manufacturing facility and will have full site responsibility for all continuous improvements projects across the manufacturing operations.Reporting directly into the Plant Director, you will be tasked embedding lean manufacturing methods and principles, eradicating waste, improving efficiency and developing shopfloor continuous improvement competencies.Other day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing existing programmes and developing new ideas to support the businesss journey towards world class manufacturing
  • Driving a culture of delivering projects on time, in full and to the right standards
  • Managing core values to create a cohesive team
  • Promoting a culture focussed on continuous improvement across the whole operation
  • Progressing digitalisation and data strategies by innovating pragmatic digital solutions to ensure training programmes are future-proofed
  • Acting as an agent for change
ProfileSuccessful candidates will have a strong lean manufacturing background and a proven ability in leading and developing change. You will provide inspirational management and possess:
  • Knowledge of operational management and organisational methods
  • Ability to take a structured, logical approach, while simultaneously working dynamically across a number of different programmes and initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience of CI and TPM methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business
  • Curiosity and demonstrable experience of implementing improvement initiatives
