Financial Controller neededSureStaffing UK Ltd are looking to recruit a Financial Controller, for one of Hulls most luxurious hotels. This employer is well-known for being one of the worlds leading Hotel & Resort providers.Responsibilities and Duties:

• Responsible for the overall accounting and financial management requirements.
• Represent the finance department during daily, weekly, monthly meetings.
• Support and liaise with the General Manager in meeting the strategic goals of the organisation.
• Prepare and review annual budgets, monthly forecasts, operating results.
• Verify all financial reports and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with local government regulations.
• Able to prepare and submit management reports in a timely manner.
• Effectively implement all accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard hotel assets.
• Able to proactively assist with cost control requirements.
• Assist with revenue enhancement possibilities.
• Identify profit improvement opportunities for the hotel operations.
• Able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritise, organise and accomplish the work.
• Assist in the building of an efficient and professional team of employees within Finance/Accounts department.
• Monitor all local tax compliance that applies and ensure that taxes are charged correctly and collected.
• Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Oversee internal, external and regulatory audit processes.
• Celebrate successes by publicly recognising the contributions of team members.
• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with all employees and their team.
• Participate in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
• Responsible to ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to hotel standard.

Person specification:

• 5 to 10 years of financial and management experience within hospitality financial operations.
• Strong ability in using Excel, Powerpoint etc.
• knowledge of back office or accounting systems such as SAP, Sage, Freshbooks etc.
• Understanding of Hotel Software or Property Management Systems like OnQ, OPERA etc.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Fantastic financial/business decision making skills.
• Analytical skills and very well organised.
• Qualified Charted Accountant (CA) or Similar or 4-year bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting or similar is desirable (Open to discussions)

Working Hours for the Financial Controller:

• 40 hours/ week

Shift times for Financial Controller are:

• Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
• Working from home is an option for one day per week. This would need to work around business needs.

Annual salary for Financial Controller:

• £40,000 - £50,000
