Job Description

Commercial ManagerHull£50,000 - £60,000Our client are an international engineering company specialising in the manufacture, installation and servicing of a range of automated material handling systems.ResponsibilitiesCommercial Manager

  • Independent of the project team, produce and present monthly project performance review reports;
  • Participate in contract reviews, negotiations and dispute resolutions;
  • Manage key contract, commercial and financial key performance deliverables (KPDs)
  • Manage and deliver improvements in project accounting and project commercials;
  • Effective financial control of projects under varying terms of contract (NEC, FIDIC etc);
  • Commercial influence over projects at bid stage;
  • Undertake governance to ensure robust cost and schedule performance;
  • Ensure provision of effective project controls management;
  • Baseline change control.
Experience/QualificationsCommercial Manager
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant technical subject;
  • Formal project controls qualifications such as APM PMQ project management qualification;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in project controls roles in an engineering contracting/ project delivery organisation;
  • Leadership of a project controls group;
  • Effective communication within team and with stakeholders;
  • Experience in the implementation of earned value management based project control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards;
  • Experience of working on NEC 3 projects;
  • Ability to utilise critical project management concepts (e.g. EVM, project planning, risk analysis, configuration management);
  • Computer literate & experienced in Microsoft Office applications.
