Coastal Maintenance ManagerCovering the North & East Region (Predominantly Berwick Upon Tweed to Humber)About usOur purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning. We’re looking for a Coastal Maintenance Manager to join our In-Service Support team. The Coastal Maintenance Manager supports the RNLI through the delivery of maintenance, repairs and modifications to the RNLI fleet of boats and equipment to ensure 24 hour availability at point of use.Some of the benefits- Salary of £35,993 - £42,345 (dependent on experience)- Flexible working- 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays- Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary)- Life assurance- Health and dental cash planYour roleAs a Coastal Maintenance Manager, you will be tasked with focusing on the following areas:- Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of coastal maintenance across the region in accordance with RNLI policies, standards and external legislation.- Manage preventative, corrective repairs and modifications of RNLI plant and equipment carried out either on station or at an appropriate contractors’ facility and ensure that the appropriate records are completed in accordance with current procedures.- Line manage a team of specialist technicians and engineers, prioritising and managing the workload of these staff.- Control, manage and be responsible for budgets/finances associated with the repair and maintenance of plant for the region.About youYou’ll be an effective team player, with good people skills and will welcome responsibility. You will be someone who works well under pressure whilst planning, co-ordinating and reporting. You will be prepared to meet stretched targets and have sound financial awareness. You must also be prepared to travel as part of the role, including spending evenings away from home.To be considered as the Coastal Maintenance Manager, you will need:- An HNC/D or equivalent and a time-served apprenticeship in a technical discipline and a vocational level 4 or equivalent qualification in Management.- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.- Proven experience of delivering solutions on time and within budget.- Team management skills.
