Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Grinding Technician to join our team specializing in manufacturing for Components Business Segment in Huddersfield.This is a permanent contract working 35 hours per week. Monday - Thursday 7am-3pm and Friday 7am-12pm, with potential of night shifts.Salary is up to £40,000 depending on skills and experience.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manufacture complex components working directly from engineering drawings with a pro-active problem solving approach using a range of manufacturing methods and equipment
  • Interpret and understand complex engineering drawings and models
  • Engage in improvement activity within work area to improve operational performance
  • Ensure quality is maintained to engineering standards and drive quality ownership
  • Create and develop documented procedures while engaging in best practice
  • Drive continuous improvement activities relating to manufacturing methodologies
  • Communicate with other members of the department to ensure workflow and customer requirements are met
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Apprenticeship trained is preferred ideally from a toolroom background
  • Precision CNC grinding experience is essential
  • Precision manual grinding experience is essential
  • Working towards micron tolerances is essential
  • Manufacturing background
  • Computer literature
