Job Description

An Electrical Controls Technician is sought after to provide expert support in the engineering and manufacturing department of an established industry leader in the industrial/manufacturing sector. Based in Sheffield, the role involves maintaining, troubleshooting,and improving electrical control systems.Client DetailsThe company is an established industrial/manufacturing entity with a sizeable workforce.   • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, control, and instrumentation issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards associated with electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to engineering designs, installations, testing, and maintenance activities
ProfileA successful Electrical Controls Technician should have:
  • Experience with AutoCAD and PLCs and SCADA systems.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Electricity at Work 1989.
  • PUWER 1998.
  • Previous experience of being apprentice trained would be desirable, or equivalent to EITB in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering..
  • 18th Edition BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
