Data Engineerremote working Up to £48,000Up to33days holiday, including bank holidaysPlus aholiday purchasing scheme.Generous pension schemeLife assurance and accident insurance schemesFlexible workingLearning and Development Opportunities Are you a Data Engineer invested in industry 4.0 Are you a Data Engineer seeking a new challenge to utilise your data engineering skills within the next generation innovative industry We have an immediate permanent vacancy for a remote working Data Engineer, there is a requirement for with monthly meetings in person with your engineering team. This Data Engineering role supports the development and maintenance of the Data Foundry / DataLibrary. The Data Foundry is acollection of predominately cloud based technologies used to collect and transform data from our scientific and process facilities to enable new and innovative insights.This role offers diversity in working in many different markets including pharmaceuticals, speciality chemicals, food and drink, electronics and transportation.Your day to day responsibilities as a remote working Data Engineer

  • Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using Cloud technologies
  • Building analytical tools to utilise the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key scientific metrics
  • Working with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical issues
  • To ensure Data Governance is maintained
  • To engage with the technical team and contribute to the design of data entry templates enabling data mining and automated reports generation.
  • To adopt acontinuous improvement approach and to support the integration of new processes and technologies and promote the adoption of industry state-of-the-art principles and best practices.
To be a successful applicant we are looking for applicants who have.
  • Education to BSc level (or equivalent) in the field of Data Science, Computer Science (or equivalent) or related subject.
  • Working knowledge of software and large data tools suchas;
Kafka, Apache PulsarSpark and HadoopRelational, NoSQL andSQLdatabases e.g. Postgres, MongoDB, Redis or Cassandra
  • ETL/ELTtools e.g. Xplenty, Talend orGlue
  • Source control/ Workflow management tools such as GitHub, GitLab or DevOps
  • Cloud data management systems e.g. Redshift,RDS,EMRandEC2
  • Stream-processing systems e.g. Spark-Streaming andStorm
