Job Title: Customer Technical SupportLocation: Huddersfield, Bolton or HullSalary: £30,000 - £35,000Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pmOur client was founded in 2005, currently employ over 75 members of staff and is active in much of Europe and South Africa with offices in Aldershot, Bolton, and Huddersfield, Cologne in Germany, plus Johannesburg and Cape Town. The company holds a strong position in the UK, accounting for 25% of the British solar market. They offer an unrivalled service distributing photovoltaic systems all over the UK. Its business areas dont include just standard PV equipment but also self-consumption solutions, such as batteries and heat pumps. They pride themselves on being forward thinking and dynamic, adapting quickly to market changes and as such continue to see success and growth in all of their markets.Products are marketed via an on-line platform from which they provide on-line design tools, product information and availability and customer account information. They provide added value to their customers by providing pre-sales and post-sales Technical Support. This requires a full understanding of the technical applications of our product portfolio, the requirements of our customers and UK regulations and guidance. The ideal candidate:* Basic knowledge of Solar PV (battery storage also an advantage)* Adept at fault-finding and solving problems* A team player who will share knowledge with their colleagues, and help translate it to our customers * Have sensitivity to relationships with key manufacturers* Thorough approach* Have good organisational and prioritisation skills* Great people skills and ability to manage customer expectations* Process driven* Excellent, confident, telephone manner and communication skills (written and verbal)* Technically minded* Have the ability to retain technical facts* A positive, can-do, problem solver* Appreciation and reflection of company strategy* Ability to give clear instructionThe role: * Telephone technical support to customers; pre and post-sale, consisting of design advice, planning, application and troubleshooting* Full documentation of call details on the Customer Management system* Help with queries relating to firmware/communication/settings/fault finding/troubleshooting* On-going development of product/industry/regulatory knowledge* Share knowledge with colleagues* Know where to cease support* Follow RMA processes where appropriate* Liaise with manufacturer technical teams when required* Use of TeamViewer, Microsoft office/Excel (basic) The position will initially be based at their Huddersfield office with scope potentially to work from Bolton after development.The Perks!* In-role development and training* Competitive salary* On-site parking* 29 days holiday, including bank holidays* Company pensionGi Group are committed to protecting the privacy of all of our candidates and clients.
