Job Description

Job Title: Credit ControllerLocation: HuddersfieldSalary: £25,000 per annumJob type: Full Time, PermanentHours: 35 hours per week, Mon - Fri 9.00am - 5.00pmHolidays: 31 days start (inc stat), increase to 34 with serviceDonaldsons Vets Ltd are an independently owned veterinary group based across Huddersfield with seven practices including our own hospital.We care passionately about looking after animals and pride ourselves on providing Total Care for pets. We combine truly cutting-edge training, facilities, equipment, and premises with good old fashioned personal care.About the Role:Donaldsons are currently recruiting for an experienced credit controller.The Credit Controller is an integral member of our accounts team and is responsible for collecting debts from our customers, evaluating the aged debt, liaising with our external debt collection agency, and providing administrative support to the business.This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a developing organisation and wants to influence the success of the credit control team and the business.You will have proven skills and knowledge of the duties of a Credit controller, excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to always maintain a professional manner.If you have experience in a similar role, drive, enthusiasm, and an ambition to be a part of a forward - thinking company then this is the job for you.Main duties will include

  • Speaking to our clients in a professional manner to ensure timely payment of outstanding bills
  • Regularly checking and respond to emails, messages, and calls from clients and colleagues
  • Processing payments through our online payment system
  • Producing and sending out final notice letters
  • Processing surcharges on accounts in line with the Companies policy on bad debts
  • Negotiating payment plans if deemed appropriate
  • Updating financial records and creating reports as needed
  • Resolving customer complaints in line with the Company complaints policy
  • Reconciling accounts and preparing write offs for authorisation where necessary
  • Liaising with the insurance team to identify any debt which needs to be recovered from the client after a claim has paid out
  • Taking part in any training deemed necessary for your role
  • Supporting and assisting other members of the team
  • Providing cover for team members as required during absence and holidays
About you:Job Specific
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working with and updating accounting systems
  • Experience of making credit control decisions
  • Ability to manage own work loads and use initiative to create a workable solution for clients and the Company
  • Proficient at Excel spreadsheets and Word
  • Experience of using Google docs would be an advantage
