Job Description

My client who are a leading accountancy practice in west Yorkshire are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join their friendly team.This role is best suited to a candidate with previous accountancy practice experience and someone who is used to liaising with different clients - the purpose of this role is to provide key bookkeeping services and also to assist with the Accounts team.Main duties of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Completing weekly, monthly and quarterly bookkeeping for clients
  • Visiting clients onsite
  • Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
  • Using accounting software such as Xero and Sage on a daily basis, educating clients on these tools and also helping the wider team.
  • The ideal candidate:
  • Will be able to work well under pressure and within a team - being approachable and having great communication skills both internally with colleagues and externally with clients is key
  • Will have great analytical skills and understand the importance of bookkeeping within the wider client and business context.
  • Technical Skills, qualifications and desirable experience:
  • Qualified by experience in bookkeeping or AAT (ideally minimum 3 years experience)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts, Xero and IRIS
  • Able to use Microsoft Office software including Excel
  • Experience of working with IRIS
  • Use of own car would be desirable.
