Freight and Logistics ManagerLocation: Livingston, EH54 5DJSalary: £34,000 to 35,000 per annum, DOEContract: Full-time, permanent.Hours: 9.00am - 5.30pm Mon-FriThe Company:Livingstone International Ltd manages AWDIS brands (including Just Hoods and Just Cool) which is an industry leader in promotional clothing. AWDis is experiencing rapid growth and we are looking for an experienced Freight and Logistics Manager to join ourbusiness family, to help expand and improve our operations from a freight and logistics perspective.This role will have a big influence on the continuing success of our brands and build upon our current momentum. You will have experience of working in an Ocean and road freight environment with experience within imports, exports, and storage of stock.Freight and Logistics Manager - The Role:You will ensure the successful delivery of the companys sea container movements from its overseas suppliers to its own and 3rd party delivery locations in the UK, EU, and US from both an efficiency and cost standpoint. Given that this is a brand-new departmentyou will be able to influence the development of the freight and logistics function from the ground up.The role has the accountability to improve business processes aligned to business goals and objectives.Duties to include. Coordinates the shipping process for national and international shipments. Create and maintain procedures necessary to remain in compliance with customs and other legal requirements. Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed, and released to carrier, forwarders, customers, and agents in a timely manner. Keep all stakeholders fully updated on the progress of deliveries. Assists with the preparation of commercial invoices. Review and compare shipping costs where possible to drive cost saving exercises.Freight and Logistics Manager - The right candidate: A solid understanding of import and export legislation along with customs clearance documentation and processes. Problem solves - for customers both internal and external about shipping routes, delayed consignments, and urgent orders. Ability to work on own initiative and operate within an environment where change and uncertainty is considered routine. Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent writing skills Strong competence in the use of Microsoft Office tools, particularly, Excel Develop and maintain successful relationships with suppliers and partners.
