Electrical Supervisor

Job Description

The Recruitment Co working in partnership with our engineering client based in Livingston has a requirement for an electrical supervisor to work between both their sites in Livingston.The purpose of the job is to manage a small team of electricians and sub-contractors on industrial installationsInstalling, maintaining and testing electrical installations including 3 phasepower, fire alarms, emergency lighting.Carry out responsive and preventative maintenance.Carry out EICRs and all associated remedial works.Completing reports and certificates .Submit job reports and weekly time sheets. Carry out fault finding on industrial machineryProvide support to Sales, specifying and obtaining costings for, Heating,Lighting, A/Cs as required.Produce BOMs for Production Electrics as required Travel as required for nationwide projects.Participate in 24-hour emergency call out service and be available to carry outemergency repair work.Ensure you carry out your duties in line with Health and Safety legislationEnsure that all work including repair and testing is carried out in accordance withrequirements.Carry out repairs to electrical equipment and remove faulty or dangerousequipment or machinery until such times they are repaired or replaced.To ensure tools and equipment operates to maximum efficiency in a safe andcontrolled manner and that all maintenance operations are recorded asrequired.Carry out all necessary safety checks on equipment and tools and repair anydefects immediately completing any reports as necessary.Ensure that any process plant and equipment you use operates safely,effectively and efficiently during the work period.Carry out routine and planned maintenance checks on all electrical equipmentas required by the company.Ensure any contractor that is carrying out work under your control complieswith the companys health and safety procedures.Ensure that all mandatory inspections that is carried out by an externalprovider is competent to carry out the work and provides a written report ofconformance.Keep all records of tests and inspections carried out either in hard copy orelectronic format in a controlled manner that they can be easily retrieved.You must ensure that all new electrical equipment is subject to safety checkand accepted prior to release for use by operators.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEGood knowledge of H&S regulationand safe systems of work relating toelectrical repairs and maintenance.Good knowledge of electrical plantand machinery relevant tofabrication and welding processesGood knowledge of electricalsystems.Reading and understanding ofengineering/electrical systemdrawings.18 th Editions of BS7671Commercial and IndustrialexperienceFactory 3 phase power distribution,lighting. fire alarms. emergencylighting experienceWorking knowledge of pneumaticsand hydraulic circuitsCity & Guilds 2391 testing andinspectionCITB Health & safety Qualification -SSSTS or SMSTSCommercial solar PV experienceHold current ECS gold cardIPAF card (MEWPS)PASMA card (Towers)FLT licenceFirst Aid QualificationHighly organised and efficient.Ability to work under pressure totight timescales.Able to train staff5+ years experience in theelectrical fieldFull UK Driving LicenseFlexible approach to working hoursPrevious experience in a similar roleor environment.Shift workingThe Recruitment Co. is an equal opportunities employer and were committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
