Payroll ManagerHours : 37.5 Mon to FriSalary : Dependent upon level of experience and knowledge : £35,000 - £40,000 p.a.Location: Houghton Le Spring - DH4RoleFirst Choice are recruiting an experienced Payroll Manager, for our client, to manage this complex payroll as the business is rapidly growing through both acquisition and organic growth.The role of Payroll Manager will be to manage the payroll for the business and produce monthly reports. This is a hands-on role and will also involve providing continuous improvement, with regards to enhancing existing processes.The Payroll Manager will also need to be fully conversant with the MHR iTrent payroll system.The main responsibilities will be: Managing delivery in line with payroll schedule, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll production Maintaining knowledge of current and new legislation impacting payroll and ensuring this knowledge is shared with the Group FC and accounts team Ensuring that pay runs and BACS payments are completed accurately and on time Ensuring business-wide application and compliance of all financial & audit controls within Payroll Managing all payroll enquiries from operations, managers and employees to satisfactory resolution Liaising with HMRC, pension providers and other third parties Ongoing identification of improvements in payroll processes and systems Managing and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the PAS payroll process Delivering best practice within Payroll at all times Develop and monitor KPIs & review performance against them; Review processes and recommend improvements / opportunities to streamline/lead change initiatives; Ensure balance sheet accounts reconcile to the payroll detail Assist with year-end audit requirementsThe following qualities, skills and experience are essential: 5+ years payroll experience of running a complex payroll Extensive knowledge of the MHR iTrent payroll system CIPP qualification Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation Ability to manage payroll workload to ensure SLAs are met and KPIs are achieved Highly numerate, strong IT skills and capable user of Excel Attention to detail and desire to follow issues through to resolution Diligent and ability to multi-task Cultivate continuous improvement and good customer service Analytic capability, with high attention to detail and problem-solving capability Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise tasks Capability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to identify and manage implementation of new and revised processes Control and compliance minded, and will to ensure the business adheres to all payroll related policies and processesDirect Reports : 1 xPayroll ClerkHours : 37.5 Mon to FriHolidays : 22 days(plus 8 bank holidays)Salary : Dependent upon level of experience and knowledge : between £35,000 and £40,000 p.a.INDPERM
