Job Description

THE ROLEHaving sucessulfy filled one position for an IT Support Engineer I am delighted to be supporting my client as they continue to grow the team. Working within the public sector education sector this role is based across East Durham, South Tyneside & Sunderland.I am now looking for 1 x IT Support EngineerYou will be based in the field and will be required to travel around to different sites across the area and due to the nature of the work you will need to be passed for a DBS check.

  • Salary: £22,000 - £27,000 based on experience
  • Location:East Durham, South Tyneside & Sunderland
  • Hybrid working:No, though you will work across different sites.
  • Working Hours:MondayThursday 08:0016:00 & Friday 08:0015:30
  • Holidays:25 days (increases to 30 after service) plus bank holidays
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIESIn this role you will be providing 2nd line IT assistance across the business. Working in the field you will need to be able to make your way from site to site and be expected to provide support through diagnosing, resolve and closing support requests.
  • You will be comfortable will be comfortable managing/maintain, Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policies.
  • Experience working across Microsoft 365 and troubleshooting across IT peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot across the network including but not limited to security patches and updates, repair/replacement of faulty components in computers, laptops, iPads, projectors, printers and other ICT equipment.
  • Take ownership of problems through to resolution.
  • Liaise with external parties for escalated support when required.
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support and work within service management principles.
YOUR SKILLSThis is fantastic opportunity to join an organisation who do great work across the local area. The ideal candidate will come with a degree of experience providing 2nd Line Support however there are opportunities to learn new skills and grow within the role.You will be able to demonstrate:
  • Previous 2nd Line Support experience covering the day-to-day responsibilities above.
  • Understanding of MS Windows operating systems.
  • A good knowledge of local area networks.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Enthusiastic approach to Customer Service
  • Full current drivers licence and access to a car.
  • A positive approach to problem solving.
  • Initiative.
  • Good people and communication skills.
