Job Description

Blair West is working in partnership with Clixifix on a retained assignment as they look to bring in a talented Head of Finance into a newly created role.This is a hugely commercial role for a business which has seen consistent Year on Year growth. Reporting into the part-time CFO with a dotted line into the Board and CEO, the Head of Finance will assume responsibility for all day-to-day finance operationof the business and will be the go-to resource supporting the Senior Management team in finance and commercial matters. The opportunity:

• Responsibility and management of financial transactions and reporting
• Ensuring timely and accurate annual, month end and other regular reporting
• Providing financial and non-financial analysis on a regular and ad-hoc basis to support business goals
• KPI monitoring, management and trend analysis - ensuring the production of relevant indicators to assist the Senior team in monitoring and managing the next stage of the high-growth trajectory of the Company.
• Management and recruitment of a further finance team member and establishment of a commercially focussed finance function to support the business; including 1-2-1’s, coaching and development
• Leading the budget setting process and coordinating the input of other department heads in the production of business plans.
• Support the CFO to maintain cash flows ensuring accurate forecasting
• Managing and maintaining the companies’ balance sheet reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
• R&D tax relief claims/reviews
• Ownership of finance related projects as required, likely to include the implementation of new finance and subscription management systems to replace manual excel-driven reporting support the targeted scaling of the business
• Maintaining robust internal controls extending to legal processes, contract renewals, insurances and HR
• Assist on legal matters, seeking advice from external parties where necessary

Youll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:

• Qualified Finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with minimum 2 years post qual experience
• Experience in industry is advantageous, although somebody with a CF background would also fit well
• Strong technical accounting skills coupled with a strong commercial acumen
• Experience in SaaS, although not essential, would be an advantage
• Experience in a Venture Capital/Private Equity backed business would be beneficial, but again not essential
• A level of ambition to push the business along and drive performance through KPI analysis and data utilisation
• Strong tech skills, and advanced competencies in Microsoft Excel. The ability to devise and implement KPI reporting to focus the Senior team and to effectively extract business insights from a large volume of customer subscription data
• Knowledge of automated processing and reporting solutions e.g. PowerBI and other similar technologies would be advantageous - systems selection and implementation is likely to be a key feature of the role
