Job Description

SaleCycle powers campaigns for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Including IKEA, Ralph Lauren and Virgin Atlantic.Role summaryWe are looking for a talented Data professional who believes in harnessing the power of data as growth driver, putting forward new ideas, and building a modern data stack that enables expansion in our product suite by providing actionable insights to our customers. This is a transformational role, at the heart of a substantial technology change, and will underpin much of the company’s success in the future.You’ll join the Data Intelligence Team and will be contributing to, and helping to shape our approach to using data, i.e., deriving actionable insights for SaleCycle for our growing base of blue-chip clients. The data is vast as our systems process and analyse billions of website sessions in real time each year. As a keen problem solver with a strong sense of curiosity, youll love to dig through the data to find trends and patterns but take equal enjoyment in quantifying and discussing the impact of your findings. You’ll also get great satisfaction from empowering stakeholders to make decisions from the data experiences which you provide to them through Looker.As our Looker Data & Insights Analyst you will…

  • Work in a cross-functional team to collaborate on the implementation of analytics tools, KPIs, dashboards which help to satisfy the daily analytics needs of our customers, with a focus on building out the Looker platform to provide customers with access to data that they can trust.
  • Gather and understand requirements from internal stakeholders and translate them into deliverables.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for analysis from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in improving controls around the accuracy, validation, quality and timeliness of data.
  • Ensure the integrity of the analysis which the wider team produces by taking part in peer-reviews.
  • Assist with implementing governance frameworks, also ensuring any reported metrics satisfy the Data Dictionary.
  • Interrogate the performance of our products by meticulously investigating the data.
  • Deliver analytics based upon our customer data to create materials such as best practice guides.
  • Empower stakeholders, providing them with data/analyses which they can trust, and training them in best practices.
  • Be rigorous with data analysis, always persevering to ask questions to uncover greater depth of insights.
  • Be self-motivated, attentive to detail, and driven to continuously improve analytics skill set.
  • Enjoy using data for storytelling and is enthusiastic about uncovering opportunities of using it to enhance SaleCycle.
    • What’s required
  • Professional experience in a Data Analytics role, and/or degree educated, ideally in a mathematical or computer/data science related subject.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Looker platform, including areas such as modelling, performance tuning, resource monitoring, liquid, testing, and advanced techniques, e.g., aggregate awareness.
  • Comfortable writing and peer-reviewing LookML.
  • Ability to develop customer focused explores that enable self-service analytics.
  • Ability to create Looker dashboards which tell a meaningful story.
  • Experience of using Looker marketplace extensions and/or the creation of data products using Looker.
  • Able to manipulate structured / semi-structured datasets using SQL.
  • Able to gather and understand requirements from stakeholders and translate them into deliverables.
  • Rigorous with data analysis, always persevering to ask questions to uncover greater depth of insights.
  • Comfortable context switching and working on multiple problems in parallel.
  • Self-motivated, attentive to detail, and driven to continuously improve analytics skill set.
    • What’s desired
  • LookML Developer Certification.
  • Experience of using Looker Embed to develop analytics applications.
  • Experience of using DBT as a tool for developing data models.
  • Exposure to third party tools for data ingestion and integrations, e.g., Tray, Fivetran, etc.
  • Familiarity with modern Data Warehouses, specifically Snowflake.
  • An awareness of, or keen to learn more about, the challenges of processing massive datasets efficiently.
  • Appreciation of data governance and the handling of personal data, e.g., GDPR.
  • Knowledge of Data Science or other statistical concepts and their applications for success.
  • Has already delivered, or is in the process of delivering, a substantial business transformation involving the migration of legacy data solutions into a robust and modern data stack on which data products can be built.
