If youre looking for an opportunity to develop your accounting career post-qualification, and want to make a move from the profession into the private sector, heres your chance to develop new corporate finance skills in a thriving business.Pacifica Group is the UKs largest Independent Repairer of Electrical Appliances and one of the UKs largest Installer and Repairer of Central Heating Systems. The group trades under the 0800 Repair brand and is home to over 400 Engineers throughout the UK.The group has created a new role to support growth in strategic areas and is now looking to appoint a Corporate Development Manager to take a leading role lead on the acquisitions process and other internal and external strategic initiatives. Where you fit inThe Corporate Development Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the CFO to help identify acquisition targets, develop and execute origination strategies, build strategic and financial business cases, and lead the coordination of due diligence efforts.On average, youll be dealing with one acquisition every month. Target businesses are likely to range between £400,000 to £1.5m, so although most deals will not be overly complex, there will be a steady volume of transactions for you to handle to expand your experience.When deals are close to completion, youll be intensely occupied with making sure everything happens on time and with minimal fuss. Therell also be times when M&A activity is quieter, and its then youll support the CFO, finance team and broader business by adding value in other ways, so no two weeks will ever be the same.Youll gain exposure operating at a senior level, regularly presenting to the Board as well as coordinating the launch of post-merger integration efforts.About you Youll be a qualified Accountant seeking a move from the profession into the private sector. You wont necessarily have trained or worked with corporate finance, but youll be keen to develop your experience in this exciting area.To successfully drive research efforts into private companies and manage acquisition pursuits, youll need to lead projects and have a self-starter initiative.Youll have strong analytical skills and excellent financial modelling capabilities, both of which will be required to enable you to prepare investment case presentations.To thrive in this pressured commercial environment, youll need to be organised and able to prioritise a demanding workload.Your communication skills will allow you to influence and engage people at all levels, from the Board table to the owners of businesses youre looking to acquire to field-based engineering teams.
