Job Description

If youre looking for an opportunity to use your corporate finance skills and develop your accountancy career in the private sector, heres your chance to make that first move.Pacifica Group are the UKs largest Independent Repairer of Electrical Appliances, employing some 250 Engineers throughout the UK. The business primarily trades with very large brands including AEG, Zanussi, Hoover Candy, Haier, Hisense, LG, Miele, Argos Sainsbury,Very Group, British Gas, Domestic and General. The business carries out customer repairs to on behalf of its brand partners with a focus on high repair quality and customer journey achieved through the direct control of the workforce and utilising Pacificasproprietary IT systems.Synova Capital, a leading UK Private Equity house backs Pacifica Group. The group is focused on delivering an exciting yet ambitious growth strategy with a target of increasing revenue by over 50% over the next three years by increasing Engineer numbers andcapability, expanding its already nationwide footprint into new regions, both organically and through acquisition.The group has created a new role to support growth in strategic areas and is now looking to appoint a Corporate Development Manager to take a leading role lead on the acquisitions process and other internal and external strategic initiatives. Where you fit inThe Corporate Development Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with the CFO to help identify acquisition targets, develop, and execute origination strategies, build strategic and financial business cases, and lead the coordinationof due diligence efforts.On average, it is expected that you will complete one acquisition every month. Target businesses revenue levels are likely to range between £400,000 to £2.5m, so although most deals will not be overly complex, there will be a steady volume of transactions foryou to handle to expand your experience.Whilst youll be responsible for generating new opportunities, its not a "hard sale" approach, as youll be very targeted and, in most cases, youre effectively unlocking a small business owners future by presenting a route to retirement.With ten potential deals already in the pipeline, theres plenty of work for you to take over.As well as the day-to-day activity in relation to acquisitions you will be involved in the wider strategic direction of the group, supporting the CFO as required.Youll gain exposure operating at a senior level, regularly presenting to the Board, liaising with Investment Directors as well as coordinating the launch of post-merger integration efforts.About you Youll be a qualified Accountant with corporate finance experience and a track record of advising on successful transactions.To successfully drive research efforts into private companies and manage acquisition pursuits, youll need to lead projects and have a self-starter initiative.Youll have strong analytical skills and excellent financial modelling capabilities, both of which will be required to enable you to prepare investment case presentations.To thrive in this pressured commercial environment, youll need to be organised and able to prioritise a demanding workload.Your communication skills will allow you to influence and engage people at all levels, from the Board table to the owners of businesses youre looking to acquire.
