Job Description

Behaviour Support AssistantDo you have experience of supporting students with challenging behaviourAre you interested in working full-time with an exciting school that can provide trainingHave you made a positive impact or been a positive role model to someone with SEMH and behavioural difficultiesThe position: Behaviour Support Assistant, mainstream KS3-4 supporting a child with challenging behaviour and/or mental health needs 1:1Salary: Earn GBP60-65 per dayTeaching Personnel are currently working alongside a large secondary school in the Horfield area of Bristol who are looking to recruit sensitive and engaging candidates as behaviour support assistants. This role is full-time and provides the opportunity to gain experience and training. The role will be supporting a child with challenging behaviour 1:1 and/or mental health needs, within a mainstream KS3-4 classroom.The school:

  • The ideal candidate:Will –
  • Be able to commit to a long-term role
  • Be confident and authoritative managing challenging behaviour
  • Remain patient and composed in stressful and heated situations
  • Have a respectful and professional manner towards pupils and staff within the school
  • Offer practical help and emotional support to children experiencing short or long-term challenges
  • Can work alongside a classroom teacher and liaise with parents and SENCO
  • Have a friendly, sensitive, empathetic and understanding approach
  • Must –
  • Have experience of working within a similar environment or supporting individuals with similar needs and be confident working with children with challenging behaviour
  • The right to work within the UK
  • The ability to provide two references from your most recent employers
  • All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid child workforce Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
