Please ensure you have the right to live and work in the UK before applying.Job Title: Support Worker (Bank)Location: Proactive Life Midlands, 46 Park Avenue, Hockley, Birmingham,West Midlands, B18 5NERate Of Pay: £10.42 per hourShift Pattern: Ad hoc (bank), 12 hours shifts, Days and Nights 7:45am - 8pm, 19:45 - 8am.Information about the Role:Working as a Bank Support Worker at Proactive Life Midlands your duties will include:

  • Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
  • Providing emotional support for an individual and at times their families.
  • Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health and safety of service users at all times.
  • Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
  • Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
  • Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
  • If applicable, assist in the administration of medication.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications:
  • Supported Living / Care experience is essential
  • Experience working with complex and challenging behaviour
  • Caring, kind and considerate.
  • Passionate about making a difference in someone else’s life.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able handle sometimes challenging situations.
  • Able to build relationships with many different people.
Information about the Service:Proactive Life Birmingham is a unique supported living service located in Hockley, Birmingham and is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care and also the treatment for disorder and injury.The service provides care and support to adults of all ages with a learning disability/autism or mental health needs. This includes those with complex and challenging behaviour needs, forensic histories and those with a diagnosis of personality disorder.We support individuals to maximise their independence as much as possible within their own homes.Proactive Life Midlands has access to 36 self-contained flats that service users rent. Service users’ flats are within a complex of three blocks of flats on a main road in a residential area in Hockley.The staff team that provides care and support to the service users, operates from an office base within the complex which provides a 24-hour presence of professional support.Oakleaf Recruitment are the In-House Recruitment Team for a growing group of Services and Hospitals across the UK.Job Type: Zero hours contractSalary: £10.42 per hourSchedule:
  • 12 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
