Job Description

Adele Carr Recruitment has partnered with a longstanding client to recruit a Production Planner to join the Hindley Green (Wigan) office. This is a permanent role with excellent growth opportunities and a benefits package including an excellent salary, 25 days holiday, early finish on a Friday and free parking.My client is a fast-paced, market-leading manufacturing business looking to bring someone into their family who has had experience working in a similar Material Planning or Production Planning role. The Production Planner will have a key role within the business and be a central point of contact for all internal departments. Due to the vast variety of the business products, every day will be dynamic, varied and interesting. Salary & Benefits:

  • Circa. £40,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)
  • 37 hours per week - Flexible (9-5, 8-4 etc)
  • 1-hour early finish every Friday

What will be expected of you: The main purpose of this role is to provide high-quality production planning service to the business, acting as a central point of contact for Sales, Production, and Purchasing teams.
  • Produce production schedules (Daily & Weekly)
  • Complete production plan up to 6 weeks in advance
  • Monitor and report daily performance against the plan, making adjustments as needed.
  • Manage material stock to ensure operational continuity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and coordinate schedules for materials coming in and out of the factory
  • Manage minimum stock levels and order quantities
  • Coordinate stock takes
  • Ensure smooth communication and support the flow through from production to dispatch.
  • Produce daily despatch schedules and closely monitor performance.
  • Report daily performance against plan
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to Monitor the open orders book to ensure deliveries are met.
  • Produce the weekly and monthly OTIF report.
What we are looking for:
  • 3 Years+ Experience in a Production Planning / Materials Scheduler role
  • 3 years+ Experience in a manufacturing business
  • Excellent communication, organisation and computer skills
  • High attention to detail and initiative
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills
  • Experience of using Orchestrate (Access Planning Tool) would be advantageous (Not essential)
